Greek Food Tales LP
It is of great importance to “greek foodtales” that alcohol is sold in a responsible manner, also online. “greek foodtales” absolutely does not want to sell any alcohol to people under the age of eighteen (<18).
This document provides insight into the way in which “greek foodtales” gives substance to this responsible distance selling. This meets the requirement set out in article 20A paragraph 1 sub b of the Alcohol Law that one must have a method that guarantees that the alcoholic beverage is only delivered to the addressee’s address or to a distribution point & that the age of the person to whom the alcoholic beverage is supplied is determined & that this method is also used.
This document is always up to date. This means that the document is updated with every change in the situation & is revised annually. The document contains a description of:
1. The process used to monitor the age limit & meet the applicable obligations;
2. The way in which this method is made known & clear to employees;
3. Checking the correct compliance with the process & the manner in which any corrections are implemented.
1. Process (in accordance with Article 5.2., paragraph 1 under a & b of the Alcohol Decree)
• For online orders, the buyer must indicate that he or she is at least 18 years of age or older. In all cases, the customer will be informed that upon delivery, the person receiving the package must be 18 years of age or older & must also identify themselves if requested.
• An age check will always be carried out upon delivery by external delivery services. The recipient must show a valid ID, in accordance with article 20 paragraph 2 of the Alcohol Law. “greek foodtales” uses the services of DHL for this. An age check is added to the order, so that this is clear to both the consumer & DHL. As soon as an alcoholic product is ordered, a DHL label is made with the age check marking included. In the case of own shipment, a marking is also included. In this way, it is clear to the delivery person that an age check must be carried out upon delivery.
• The own delivery service of “greek foodtales” checks the date of birth upon delivery based on the delivery details & the ID that the person has ready at the delivery address. If the person has already been identified by a previous check by the own delivery person & is recognized by the own delivery person &/or it is evident that the person is older than 25 years, this can also be seen as verification. However, identification at the request of the delivery person remains mandatory at all times. The above also applies to a pick-up at the warehouse location of “greek foodtales”.
• Delivering to the neighbours or leaving alcoholic drinks without anyone being home is not permitted. The package will be taken back by the delivery person. In the case of external delivery, the package will be taken to a collection location. Upon presentation of a valid ID, the package can be collected within a week, after which the package will be returned to the sender. In the case of own delivery, the package will be taken back & can be offered for shipment again. The shipping costs are for the account of the buyer.
2. Information provision for employees (in accordance with Article 5.2, paragraph 1 under d of the Alcohol Decree)
• The company currently has no employees.
3. Control (in accordance with Article 5.2, paragraph 1 under d of the Alcohol Decree)
• At least once a year, the entire process & all associated steps will be checked.
• Checking takes place by going through all steps in the delivery process. In the case of direct/own delivery, an external party will contact customers on a random basis to check the delivery for correctness & 18 years or older. If this has not been followed up correctly, the deliverer will be addressed & if necessary, re-instructed. In the case of external suppliers (DHL), customers will also be contacted on a random basis to check the delivery for correctness. If the delivery does not meet the requirements, DHL will be contacted to discuss this & improve it.
