“Macedonian Thrace Brewery” was founded in 1996, born from the love of its inspirer for Greece & the fact that in the mid-1990s, Greece no longer had a 100% genuine Greek beer. Demetri Politopoulos, as a citizen of the world, would not accept a country like Greece not to have its own identity in beer. Thus, he decided to invest all his knowledge, creativity, passion & “meraki” to create an authentic Greek brewery with the aim of producing, bottling & marketing high-quality beer from Greek barley. The “fermentation” to create the “Vergina Beer” has just begun…

“Vergina Lager”, the authentic Greek lager beer from 100% Thracian malt & fine raw material, brewed in accordance with the strictest specifications for European lagers (Reinheitsgebot – German Beer Purity Law). It has a golden blond appearance with a clear sparkle & a characteristically light, smooth & refreshing flavour. The aromas of Tettnang & Hallertau hops coexist in perfect harmony with the Thracian malt from two-row barley varieties, offering its unique taste experience. As a classic lager, it pairs well with a wide range of dishes, including grilled meat or any type of barbeque, pizza, cheeses & deli meats, & is the ideal beverage to accompany most traditional Greek recipes. The ideal serving temperature is at 2-4°C, with a head.
