“Retsina”, the famous Greek resinous wine!
“Retsina” is a Greek white resinated wine, which has been made for at least 2000 years. Its unique flavour is originating from the practice of sealing wine vessels, particularly amphorae, with pine resin in ancient times. By this, they prevented oxygen permeation & the wine spoilage due to oxidation, but at the same time, the resin was infusing the wine with its characteristic flavour & aroma.
