The Ammonite symbol…
“Gaia Wines” was founded in 1994 by Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, an Agriculturist from AUTh & PhD in Enology from the University of Bordeaux III, & Leon Karatsalos, also an Agriculturist from AUTh. Both founders are examples of the Greek mindset of travelling & of gaining knowledge & experience, characteristics which are transformed into their wines, aiming to offer all wine lovers worldwide, the best possible result, each in their own unique way.
“14-18H Agiorgitiko” illuminates the concept of a multidimensional variety & with reference to the Agiorgitiko grape. These grapes, grown in the mountainous Koutsi & Asprokampos regions of Nemea, are harvested, processed, & directed into vats, where the grape skins remain in contact with the must for 14-18 hours, thus allowing the wine to acquire its final rosy hue & the typical aroma of the variety. Deep rose in colour, its fruity aromas are dominated by cherry & gooseberry flavours – both of which are typical of the Agiorgitiko grapes that grow on these highlands – which leave a cool refreshing aftertaste. Pairing this wine with pasta, white meats, non-garlic pizza & other dishes. To enjoy this wine at its best, serve at 8-10οC.
